The Chinese teacher introduced the man at the door as a new visiting teacher who would be observing their class for a few days. She told the students to behave well during these days and not to embarrass her.
The students looked at the handsome new substitute teacher, and some whispered among themselves.
“The teacher is so handsome, is he fresh out of college?”
“He’s too handsome, even more handsome than the school heartthrob.”
“But now there will be two people watching during Chinese class, which is probably going to be tough.”
…
Qi Yang stared at the man. The teacher introduced the man’s surname, Fu.
The new teacher, Mr. Fu, walked to the back of the classroom, deliberately passing by Qi Yang, but he didn’t look at Qi Yang. After walking past, he glanced sideways at the back of Qi Yang’s neck. That section of the neck was fair and alluring. The man’s tongue lightly pressed against his teeth, thinking that he would have a chance to kiss that spot again next time.
A temporary empty seat was added at the back of the classroom, specifically for the teacher observing his class.
He walked to the back and sat down. On the podium, the Chinese teacher asked everyone to open their textbooks and then began the lesson.
Sitting in his seat, Qi Yang gradually frowned. A gaze from behind was too sharp, staring at him and making him feel uncomfortable all over. While the teacher turned to write on the blackboard, Qi Yang looked back. Some classmates met his gaze, but they weren’t the ones staring at him. Qi Yang’s eyes instantly met those of the observing teacher. The man smiled faintly, and his gentle gaze didn’t seem like the blatant scrutiny he felt.
After looking around and finding nothing, it was the observing teacher who subtly reminded Qi Yang. Qi Yang quickly turned his head back, not letting the teacher notice his inattentiveness in class.
But after that, the gaze remained, though somewhat subdued, still making it difficult for Qi Yang to ignore. Could a ghost be targeting him, planning to make a move?
Was it not an accident arranged by the number of words? Qi Yang spent the entire class with such thoughts. This class, like the morning reading session, was uneventful. Qi Yang had always been open-minded; he decided not to dwell on uncertain matters. Whatever the other party was planning, he wouldn’t just surrender; he would struggle and resist no matter what.
After class, the Chinese teacher and the observing teacher left. After they were gone, Qi Yang borrowed some clear tape from a classmate. Although these were ghosts, monsters that threatened them, Qi Yang noticed something: normal interactions between classmates were still fine. These people wouldn’t suddenly attack, as if some rules existed, restricting their behavior.
Otherwise, with the abilities of these ghosts, if there were no restrictions, they probably would have dismembered these players yesterday.
After getting the transparent tape, Qi Yang immediately wrapped it around a pen and an eraser. More items meant a higher chance of success. He was quick, wrapping them up in just a few motions, then threw both items forward, aiming for the blades of the ceiling fan.
Qi Yang hadn’t expected to hit it on the first try, but his luck was too good; both items landed on the fan blades with one throw.
Du Yong and Yuan Yuan were both watching Qi Yang throw things. At first, they were confused as to why he was doing something strange, but when they saw both items land on the fan blades, they immediately understood what was happening.
Du Yong jumped out of his seat and, in a few quick strides, walked over to stand under the fan blades.
“Qi Yang, did your pen accidentally fall on top? You’re not feeling well, I’ll help you get it down.” As he spoke, Du Yong was about to step on a classmate’s desk.
Before he stepped on it, Qi Yang called out to him, tore two blank pages from his homework book, and handed them to Du Yong.
“Don’t get the table dirty.”
Du Yong took the paper, surprised by Qi Yang’s meticulousness: “Okay, I understand.”
Stepping on the paper, Du Yong climbed onto the desk. Standing on the desktop, he first checked if there were any numbers behind the fan blades. Besides dust, there seemed to be nothing else. Du Yong pouted and blew a breath, and immediately countless dust flew everywhere. The students below coughed one after another. Qi Yang didn’t expect Du Yong to blow a breath, and he was also choked by the dust, so he coughed twice as well.
This cough seems to have made my stomach uncomfortable again; the dull ache I had before has unexpectedly returned.
The next class was math, and the teacher said there would be an in-class test, but he forgot to bring the test papers. He immediately looked at Qi Yang.
“Qi Yang, go to the office and help me get the test papers, the set on my desk.” The math teacher directly called on Qi Yang to go get them.
Du Yong and the others panicked when they heard this, fearing that if Qi Yang left, something they dreaded would happen in the classroom, just like yesterday morning.
But the test papers weren’t heavy, so it was impossible for three people to carry them. Du Yong and the others could only stare eagerly at Qi Yang.
“Just getting the test papers?” Qi Yang knew that the two of them were particularly dependent on him now, and their current interactions were fine. If something happened to them, he would be the only player left in the classroom. Although Qi Yang wasn’t afraid of loneliness, having two more people was always better than being alone; it was more lively.
“Get it and come back quickly, there’s still a test.” The teacher’s attitude towards Qi Yang was noticeably gentle.
Qi Yang gave the two a reassuring look, telling them not to panic and that he would be back soon. The two didn’t want Qi Yang to leave, but this wasn’t a place where they could freely voice their opinions.

Leaving the classroom, Qi Yang quickly walked towards Teacher Ban’s office. It wasn’t far, on the same floor, visible from their classroom. He walked down the corridor, then turned left.

The classroom office was directly opposite the stairs. The door was open, and Qi Yang stood at the doorway, politely knocking. Someone inside the office told him to come in.
Qi Yang walked into the office and immediately stated his purpose: “Teacher Li asked me to come and get the test papers.” As soon as he finished speaking, Qi Yang looked at the only teacher sitting in the office, the teacher who had observed their class in the previous lesson. The other desks were empty, with no other teachers in sight.
Doubtful in his heart, Qi Yang remembered that this wasn’t the human world, but rather a place filled with non-human monsters. The man in front of him, who was even more handsome than a fashionable male model, was also not human. So, Qi Yang dismissed his doubts.
Walking towards Teacher Li’s desk, there was a stack of brand new test papers on it. Qi Yang took the papers and didn’t intend to stay long. He turned to leave, but as soon as he turned around, a person appeared in front of him.
Qi Yang’s heart tightened. The man had approached completely silently, without making a single sound. And he was too close, so close that Qi Yang felt he could smell the man’s scent, cold and carrying an oppressive force that no one else could match.
Qi Yang frowned, not knowing what the man meant by suddenly standing in front of him, but he still had his work to do.
“The teacher is still waiting for me in the classroom.” Qi Yang gestured for the man not to hinder him.
But the man seemed not to understand, his dark eyes fixed on Qi Yang.
“What’s your name?” The man’s thin lips parted, his voice cold yet incredibly magnetic, a voice that girls, no, even boys would like.
“The math teacher is still waiting for me.” Qi Yang didn’t answer the man, repeating his previous excuse.
The man stared at Qi Yang for two seconds, his gaze direct, as if trying to see into the depths of Qi Yang’s soul. That feeling of being scrutinized made Qi Yang uncomfortable, and his expression turned cold.
Then the man reached out to touch Qi Yang’s cheek.
With a crisp slap, the man’s wrist was forcefully pushed away. To the man’s surprise, what Qi Yang did next made his eyes widen.
Qi Yang quickly put down the test paper, propped his hands on the desk, then leaped over, gracefully flipping to the other side of the desk. As soon as he landed, Qi Yang turned around and snatched the test paper before the man could make a move.
Following Qi Yang quickly to the door, the man behind didn’t follow, and Qi Yang stopped.
“Students who break the rules are punished, so I wonder what the consequences are for teachers with poor ethics who harass students.” Qi Yang’s smile was tinged with disgust.
Not caring what the man would answer, Qi Yang quickly left.
After Qi Yang left, the man in the office walked to the window. He pulled back the curtain a little and watched the tall and charming figure through the gap.
The man’s smile gradually became more pleasant. It seemed that coming here during work hours was the right decision. As for the piled-up work, he could deal with it later.
After all, no one was more captivating to him than that young man.
Returning to the dorm with the test papers, the teacher noticed that Qi Yang seemed to have taken a little longer than expected and asked about it.
Qi Yang said he met the Chinese class observer in the office, and the teacher asked him some questions. The math teacher’s expression seemed strange at the time, and Qi Yang thought he would say something, but the teacher just told him to return to his seat.
The teacher distributed the test papers, which were passed from the first desk backward. When they reached Yuan Yuan and Du Yong, both were still in school and remembered a lot of high school knowledge. However, Qi Yang, who had graduated a year or two ago and was now a working adult, had basically returned all his high school knowledge to his teachers.
Holding the test paper, Qi Yang looked at the vaguely familiar but clearly mostly forgotten questions. After writing his name, he didn’t pick up his pen again, wondering if not doing any questions and getting a zero would count as cheating.
The students in the classroom were all silent, their pens rustling as they began to work on the test. The first part was multiple-choice. Qi Yang glanced at them and thought the multiple-choice questions seemed relatively easy; he felt he could do some of them. He completed the multiple-choice section, then moved on to the fill-in-the-blanks. He could do one or two of those as well, so Qi Yang filled in a few more. After that, Qi Yang’s stomach began to ache faintly, and he didn’t want to continue writing.
So Qi Yang raised his right hand. The teacher walked over to Qi Yang, and to avoid disturbing the other students, the teacher lowered her voice and asked Qi Yang what was wrong.
“Teacher, my stomach feels a bit uncomfortable,” Qi Yang said truthfully. Although Qi Yang had no prior experience with pregnancy, and as a man, he wouldn’t actively pay attention to such matters, the internet’s advanced information meant Qi Yang still had a general understanding of pregnancy. He knew that early and late stages of pregnancy required attention, as sometimes even minor issues could lead to problems for the baby.
Qi Yang had no expectations for this child; the child’s father was just a stranger. There was no love between Qi Yang and the man; it was an accidental pregnancy.
But currently in the game, there’s no place to abort a child. If something happens to his body midway through, and the child is accidentally lost, it wouldn’t be a small matter. Qi Yang probably guesses there’s no hospital here for him to recuper recuperate properly.
So even if he doesn’t welcome this child, Qi Yang still cares about his own body.
The teacher looked down and saw Qi Yang clutching his stomach, and Qi Yang’s expression didn’t seem like he was lying. In reality, whether Qi Yang was lying or not, no one dared to stop him from doing what he wanted to do.
“Then go to the school infirmary. If you’re really not feeling well, lie down and rest. You don’t have to do the test.” The teacher was quite accommodating, giving the illusion that they were truly an ordinary human.
But Qi Yang would still not think so.
